Long dog walk
Some dogs get nothing out of thirty minutes. The long walk is about covering more ground, sniffing without hurry and coming back genuinely tired. The terrain and the pace are agreed by breed and age, because 'long' doesn't mean the same for a greyhound as for a bulldog.

Between an hour and an hour and a half, against the half hour of the standard walk. What changes isn't only the time: it's enough to leave the neighbourhood and to sniff without rushing.
Is it for any dog?
No. A growing puppy or an older dog with arthritis need something else. The pace and the terrain are agreed according to what that dog can do, not according to how long it lasts.
Do they go off-lead?
Only if they respond to the recall and in enclosed places where it's allowed. If not, it's done on a long line, which lets them explore more freely.
