Agility session

Agility is more tiring than it looks, because it isn't only running: it's deciding, coordinating and trusting whoever's guiding. Sessions are matched to level and age, and whoever runs them watches the joints, which is where this sport takes its toll if you push.

Frequently asked questions

From what age?

For jumps and contacts, once they've finished growing: between twelve and eighteen months depending on size. Before that you can work on coordination and low obstacles, which don't load the joints.

Does any breed suit it?

Almost any, adapting the heights and the pace. In brachycephalic breeds (bulldogs, pugs, boxers…) you watch the breathing, and in long, low breeds, the back. A good trainer adjusts the course, not the dog.

Does the dog need to be obedient?

They need to come when called and to know how to wait. Without that, the course turns into chasing them, which trains nothing and teaches them that running off is fun.

Whatever your companion needs, there's someone here ready to provide it.
